Job Summary:
This position is responsible for the efficient and economic design andconstruction of underground and overhead electric distribution specializing inline extensions to serve new residential members, single phase line relocationsand maintenance projects, in accordance with RUS requirements, recommendedpractices, the N.E.S.C. and EMC policies and procedures.

This position is responsible for the efficient and economic design andconstruction of underground and overhead electric distribution specializing inline extensions to serve new residential members, single phase line relocationsand maintenance projects, in accordance with RUS requirements, recommendedpractices, the N.E.S.C. and EMC policies and procedures.

Required Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • High School Diploma or GED with 2+ years of experience in construction management, drafting, utility experience, and/or technical design.
  •  Associate degree in electrical engineering and/or equivalent with 0 years of experience in construction management, drafting, utility experience, technical design.
  • Prefers one year experience in field engineering or other related experience.
  • Must have a working knowledge to operate Auto-Cad program to complete a Georgia DOT permit, county permit, along with being able to create new overhead and underground specifications in Auto-Cad.
  • Ability to set up files in a PDF format to send out to the various governmental agencies.
  • Should be familiar with GreyStone Power’s service territory and have the ability to read company mapping system.
  • Must have ability to prepare legal documents such as Right of Way easements, state, and county permits.
  • Must become proficient in the use of the sections field computers and software within the first six-month introductory period.
  • Must have good interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with the members, developers, land agents, attorneys, and other regulatory agencies.
  • Must satisfactorily pass the EMC's employment physical exam and required drug screens.
  •  Requires valid Georgia driver’s license.

Physical Demands (if applicable):
  • Must be able to work with exposure to outside elements such as weather, animals, insects, etc.  Considerable walking, bending, and climbing are required.
  •  Must be willing to work varied/irregular hours, from time to time and be available for emergencies when needed.
