Job Summary:
• Receives, records, and reconciles all credit union transactions and GreyStone member payments, membership fees, consumer deposits, construction costs, and other receivables coming into GreyStone by mail, in person, or through the night deposit.
• Explains general GreyStone policies and promotes good will to all GEMC Credit Union and GreyStone members.
• When appropriate while servicing needs of all customers, utilizes provided materials to refer members to additional services available to Credit Union and GreyStone.
• Demonstrates and promotes a friendly, courteous, and professional customer service environment.

Key Responsibilities:
• Receive, reconcile, and record all consumer and general ledger payments.
• Receive, reconcile, and record all credit union transactions.
• Prepare daily GreyStone cash deposit.
• Research and prepare NSF checks, drafts and disputed credit card transactions.
• Process daily night drop payments, daily mail payments, enter hand key payments and notify appropriate parties as to the completion.
• Promptly report to appropriate parties regarding payments received on accounts that may require reconnection.
• Explain GreyStone policies and promptly direct member to a Member Service Representative or GEMC Representative when situation demands.
• Initiate change of address and phone number updates per member request and notate account(s) with all pertinent information.
• Adhere to Cashier Expectations policy document and established procedures.
• Consistently meet or exceed the established monthly, quarterly, and year-end performance goals.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Supervision.
• Demonstrate an awareness that the job exists to effectively serve each and every member.

Required Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• High school graduate/equivalent required; some college strongly preferred.
• Minimum of one year experience as a cashier, with preference given to bank teller/credit union experience.
• Prior experience with data entry (typing skills of 50 wpm or better), general office procedures and working with the public.
• Aptitude for detail, accuracy, and neatness.
• Excellent verbal and interpersonal communication skills. Bilingual in Spanish strongly preferred.
• Ability to maintain the confidentiality of members’ personal information at all times.
• Ability to accurately balance both GreyStone and GEMC cash drawers in a timely manner according to the Cashier Expectations policy document.
• Satisfactorily pass GreyStone's pre-employment physical examination, drug screen, criminal and credit background check.
• All cashiering staff must either be a member of GEMC Federal Credit Union or join the credit union following their employment at GreyStone.
• Ability to accept and positively respond to supervisory guidance and coaching.
• Excellent attendance and punctuality.

Physical Demands (if applicable):
Subject to frequent interruptions in a general office environment. Sitting and standing at work station handling consumer and employee transactions. Flexibility required to accommodate the needs of the Douglasville and Dallas office due to staffing concerns and to work during emergency situations. Must have visual ability to enter into and retrieve data from the computer and assure correct payment applications.
